According to an exchange between Pitchford and a fan on Twitter, a lot of the endgame materials found in Borderlands 2 will be in Borderlands 3, and this includes such content as DLC stories, headhunter bosses, and raid bosses. What’s more is that the Gearbox CEO even goes so far as to say the third numbered entry will host even more endgame wares on top of that, which will likely give many fans hope that Borderlands 3 will always be giving them something engaging to do after completing the main campaign.

However, Pitchford stops short at describing exactly what “more” means. Nevertheless, based on everything that has been revealed for Borderlands 3 thus far, there’s a good chance that the title will have the meatiest helping of endgame content the series has seen yet. After all, Gearbox Software has already confirmed that Borderlands 3 features over one billion guns, so it looks as if the studio is aiming for quantity as well as quality when it comes to playable assets.

Despite the fact that the sequel will be bringing back some of the styles of endgame content found in previous entries in the series, as is typically the case with most, if not all sequels, Borderlands 3 won’t be exactly like its predecessors. For instance, one example of this can be seen in the fact that Borderlands 3’s loot system will be altered somewhat by allowing players to receive their own loot instead of it being shared with everyone in the game.

With Gearbox planning to provide Borderlands fans with some of the endgame content they enjoyed from prior titles along with “more” wares in this domain, it looks as if the studio could be taking the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” approach when it comes to the post-campaign portion of Borderlands 3. While newer endgame wares have yet to be revealed, perhaps Gearbox will be more forthcoming on the matter when it decides to unveil gameplay at the beginning of May. After all, it’s safe to presume many fans would like to know more about such things as Borderlands 3’s season pass before committing to purchase.

Borderlands 3 is scheduled to release on September 13, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
