Following the latest trailer, which confirmed the official Borderlands 3 release date, a new post went up on the PlayStation Blog which detailed some more information about the game. One of the biggest details was that the loot system would be getting changed a bit, allowing players to receive their own loot instead of it being shared with everyone in the game. This means that players can no longer steal another player’s loot. However, if players want to fight over loot like they did in the past, they can revert back to the old Borderlands loot-sharing system in the game’s settings.

The blog post also gave a little more insight into the Calypso twins, who are the main villains in Borderlands 3. It seems that these evil twins are looking to unite the bandit clans while trying to get their hands on the galaxy’s most powerful weapon. Players will have to use the metric ton of guns they will find in the game, alongside their Vault Hunter’s unique skills, to take down these menacing twins. As always, Borderlands 3 will feature plenty of unique legendary weapons, like one that spawns mini-volcanoes, or the infamous gun with legs that will chase enemies and insult them along the way.

Whether players are taking on Borderlands 3 solo or with a full squad, there will be plenty of loot to chase. Thankfully it seems that loot will be more forgiving for co-op players this time around thanks to this helpful change. Hopefully more amazing quality of life changes will be coming in Borderlands 3 to truly make it the sequel that Borderlands 2 deserves. Players may find out a bit more in the gameplay reveal event on May 1.

Borderlands 3 launches September 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
