Shown off in the video below, this creates a beautiful aethestic on the planet of Athenas, though it likely does the same in other areas as well. Yet the monastic background sets the perfect background to show off this Borderlands 3 mod with. Building off of the background settings, this mod also removes the HUD and creates a few other tweaks that go a long way in helping the immersion of the mod.

At its core, this is just a reshade preset for Borderlands 3 that utilizes the depth buffer, but this does show how a simple mod can be incredibly effective. For download instructions for this BL3-Limbo mod, check it out on Nexus Mods, courtesy of a user known as Yeti. There isn’t a ton of mods out for the game at the moment, but players can also access a level 50 Zane the Operative and basic editing functionalities like infinite health, infinite ammo, skill editing, currency, and drop rates.
For those unfamilar with Limbo, it’s a black-and-white shaded indie title where players take on the role of an unnamed boy looking for his sister. They must navigate various puzzles to avoid death and find her. Fans of it would do well to check out this Borderlands 3 mod, as well as the various new game teases from the Limbo developer.
There’s nothing wrong with enjoying the looter-shooter threequel as it is, especially considering how popular Borderlands 3 is. That said, it’ll be interesting to see where the modding community goes next with BL3 and what others come up with.
