RELATED: What is Naruto’s Baryon Mode?

For one, the protagonist of the story, Boruto Uzumaki, is known to be a genius, unlike his father, Naruto, back in the day. Boruto is a master of several nature types and jutsu despite being quite young, and over the years, he’s added several effective techniques to his already massive arsenal. Which are Boruto’s most powerful jutsu?

Updated July 7, 2022, by Rei Penber: Boruto Uzumaki is one of the most powerful characters in the series right now. His growth over the years has made him one of Konoha’s strongest, surpassing even his father Naruto Uzumaki, and his mentor Sasuke Uchiha. With the power of the Karma aiding him, he has grown into a real force to be reckoned with. Along the way, Boruto has learned quite a few powerful Jutsu, the best of which can be found below.

13 Thunderclap Arrow

Boruto is quite a skilled user of Lightning Release and he’s proven this on multiple occasions. One of his very strongest Lightning Release techniques is called Thunderclap Arrow.

As the name suggests, Boruto makes use of lightning chakra and shapes it like an arrow to then throws it at his target. Alternatively, it can also be used in conjunction with Water Release to electrocute anyone with great power.

12 Boruto Stream

Boruto Stream is quite a complex jutsu that was developed by Boruto Uzumaki himself. This technique sees Boruto make use of two Shadow Clones to launch himself towards his target by having them use Wind Release: Gale Palm.

Thanks to this, Boruto’s speed is boosted tremendously and most enemies have quite a difficult time countering his movements. Boruto usually adds another jutsu to it to finish it with a powerful blow.

11 Gentle Fist

Being the son of an accomplished taijutsu user in Hinata, it is no surprise that Boruto Uzumaki managed to learn the Gentle Fist technique. Although he doesn’t have the Byakugan to make full use of this jutsu, Boruto is still more than impressive with it.

In the future, if he manages to master his Dojutsu, Boruto’s Gentle Fist would allow him to shut down the tenketsu of those he takes on in battle, which is quite a scary ability.

10 Shadow Clone Jutsu

Shadow Clone Jutsu is a trademark technique of Naruto Uzumaki and his son, Boruto Uzumaki has also managed to learn it. Even during his Academy days, Boruto was able to create up to three Shadow Clones, which is quite amazing.

By making clones of himself, Boruto causes massive problems for his enemies with more numbers. Additionally, he can also have his clones use any Jutsu he wants. While Boruto’s Shadow Clone Jutsu isn’t as good as Naruto’s, it’s impressive nonetheless.

9 Summoning Jutsu

In the anime, Boruto Uzumaki is also known to be able to summon snakes. In the Mitsuki Disappearance arc, Boruto managed to sign a contract seal with Garaga, a giant snake akin to Aoda.

He then went on to summon Garaga into battle in the same arc. Strangely enough, Boruto hasn’t made much use of this jutsu since the arc.

8 Rasengan

Rasengan is one of Naruto’s strongest jutsu, and it was eventually inherited by Boruto. Boruto learned this Jutsu from Konohamaru and managed to perfect it on his own.

This technique sees chakra compressed into a sphere to increase its power. The chakra ball is also rotating in multiple directions at an extremely fast speed this only adds to the damage once it makes contact with the target.

7 Compression Rasengan

Compression Rasengan is quite a powerful jutsu that, surprisingly, exists just in the Boruto anime. It sees Boruto work on his Rasengan even further and carefully compress it to increase its piercing power.

Due to the heavy compression, the Rasengan can break through tough defenses and can even knock out powerful enemies. Compression Rasengan is quite easily one of Boruto’s strongest jutsu but it needs more work to be more effective.

6 Wind Release: Rasengan

The Rasengan is one of the most iconic techniques in the Naruto franchise. Created by Minato Namikaze, this technique was meant to be completed by the addition of a nature transformation. Eventually, it was passed on to Jiraiya, who later passed it to Naruto. The young Uzumaki completed it by adding Wind Release to it, creating the Wind Release: Rasenshuriken.

Being a mentor to Konohamaru, Naruto taught him the Rasengan and he ended up teaching it to Boruto, Naruto’s son. Skilled as he is, it didn’t take Boruto long before he managed to add his nature transformation to this technique. Just like his father, Boruto added Wind Release to it and ended up creating the Wind Release: Rasengan. This Rasengan is quite powerful and the wind-natured chakra only enhances its destructive capabilities, making it a much stronger version of the original technique.

5 Vanishing Rasengan

Vanishing Rasengan was developed by Boruto by chance while he was learning the Rasengan. Boruto accidentally added Lightning Release to his Rasengan, giving it a whole new twist.

Thanks to the lightning chakra, this Rasengan, when thrown at an enemy, suddenly vanishes in its path yet manages to hit the target nonetheless. As expected, it is great for taking anyone by surprise, even someone as strong as Momoshiki Otsutsuki.

4 Karma Rift

After receiving the Karma, Boruto Uzumaki gained access to a host of new abilities, and the Karma Rift is one of them. Essentially, he gained the power to open portals and use space-time jutsu effectively.

At first, Boruto needed Kawaki’s help to open various portals, however, with time, he gained far more control over this power and could use it on his own. In the fight against Isshiki Otsutsuki, Boruto was the one who transported him to a different dimension.

3 Jogan

The Jogan is a mysterious Kekkei Genkai Dojutsu that manifested within Boruto Uzumaki at a very young age. According to Toneri, this eye is deeply connected to the Otsutsuki clan. While its powers have not been fully explored yet since Boruto has no mastery over it, fans did get a glimpse of it during the very first arc of the anime. With the Jogan, Boruto can detect distortions in space-time.

At the same time, this eye also functions just like the Byakugan and can see the chakra pathway system clearly. Added to that is the fact that it can also detect the weak points inside the body of his targets, making the fight much easier for him. The true extent of the Jogan’s power remains unknown right now, but fans will certainly see more of it in the future.

2 Purple Electricity

In the Boruto manga, Boruto Uzumaki is known to be a skilled user of Purple Electricity. This jutsu is akin to the Chidori only without the downside of tunnel vision.

Purple Electricity was created by Kakashi Hatake, and it allows its user to shoot a bolt of lightning from their hand with great power. Boruto made use of this jutsu with his shinobi kote in the anime, however, in the manga, he appears to have good control over it.

1 Rasendan

The Rasendan is a special version of the Rasengan that Boruto used while Momoshiki Otsutsuki was in control of his body. By condensing the Rasengan and making it as small as a bullet, Boruto was able to fire it off with a single finger at a tremendous pace. The speed and penetrative power of this technique are immense and even someone as strong as Code struggled to deal with it.

While Boruto hasn’t used the Rasendan on his own, it is still an ability he’s capable of using. With all the experience of Momoshiki gathered within his body, this technique should be accessible to him whenever he wants. Against faster and more agile enemies, it’s certain to be very effective.
